Board Cyber Crisis Simulation
Build executive readinessbefore a real attack.
Strengthen executive decision-making, improve governance and reduce organisational risk with realistic, board-level cyber incident exercises.
Understanding Board Cyber Crisis Simulation
Rehearse the crisis, before it’s real.
A structured exercise that replicates a real-world cyber incident at executive and board level. It tests decision-making, communication and strategic response under pressure, in a safe and realistic environment.
Why it matters: cyber attacks disrupt operations, damage reputations and test regulatory compliance. Boards that have practised respond with confidence, minimise operational impact and protect stakeholder trust.

Features
Everything you needto lead under pressure.
Six ways a simulation prepares your board for the real thing.
Realistic scenarios
Built around your industry, infrastructure and threat landscape.
Board-level engagement
Executives make strategic decisions under realistic pressure.
Crisis communications
Test internal and external communication plans during an incident.
Actionable recommendations
Tailored guidance to improve policies, procedures and decisions.
Regulatory confidence
Demonstrate preparedness to regulators, insurers and stakeholders.
Gap identification
Expose weaknesses in governance, escalation and response.
The challenges it solves
Most boardsaren’t ready.
Boards often underestimate the speed and complexity of cyber attacks. Simulations tackle the problems that turn incidents into crises.
01
Underestimated attacks
Attacks move faster and spread wider than most boards expect.
02
Decisions without visibility
Choices made without accurate information amplify the damage.
03
Communication breakdowns
Unclear roles and messages across teams, customers and regulators.
04
Untested governance
Escalation and decision protocols that haven’t been proven under pressure.

IT consulting and managed services
A full red team exercise that tested people, technology and leadership in one engagement.
What the work covered: Spear phishing simulation, penetration testing and a C-suite crisis simulation
The challenge
An award-winning IT consulting and managed services provider wanted to find and fix cyber risks before an attacker did. It needed testing that went beyond a standard vulnerability scan or penetration test and covered human factors as well as technical weaknesses.
The approach
CyberQ ran a multi-part red team exercise: targeted spear phishing simulations to test staff awareness, penetration testing to find technical vulnerabilities, and a C-suite cyber simulation to test how leadership would respond in a crisis.
The result
Findings were prioritised for remediation, the incident response plan was updated with lessons from the tabletop exercise, and the leadership team came away better able to make decisions during a cyber crisis.

The exercise exposed gaps in escalation, communication and decision-making. Afterwards, executives reported greater confidence, clearer governance and better preparation for regulatory audits.
They ran a desktop exercise with us and that was very powerful.
