CyberQ Group and Backbone Connectivity Network (BCN) Alliance
Announcement
CyberQ Group, an award-winning and international cyber innovator, is delighted to
announce a new strategic partnership with Nigeria’s leading digital communications
service company, Backbone Connectivity Network (BCN), to provide advanced cyber
capability to BCN and its partners.
This new partnership has been formed around a shared belief that digital and
communication technology, coupled with the local innovations that have made Nigeria
one of the leading digitally connected countries on the continent, enables local and
international organisations to conduct business. With the number of cyber-attacks
increasing and becoming more sophisticated, CyberQ Group and BCN have formed a
Strategic partnership to directly address the cyber security challenges in Nigeria.
In partnership with CyberQ Group, BCN will deploy managed Cyber Security Services
and Solutions across its integrated digital infrastructure services platform comprising
of thousands of kilometres of wholly-owned broadband fibre networks within Nigeria’s
North Central, North Western and North-Eastern parts, including data centres in
Abuja and Lagos. As a result, the partnership in providing managed cyber security
solutions to its clients will support the enhancement of trust, security and confidence
in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.
Stuart Hadley, COO at CyberQ Group, said:
“IT leaders and boards continually challenge assumptions made on cyber and data
security, and it’s this level of scrutiny and questioning that drives us on to create ever
more resilience in our cyber solutions. As a result, over decades, we have created the
benchmark standard for preventing data breaches, speed of response, and restoring
systems that organisations measure themselves against. We are delighted to be
involved and applying these standards with BCN and its partners.”
Ibrahim Dikko, CEO at BCN said;
BCN has, over the years, provided secure communications solutions to its customers
and partners. This new partnership with CyberQ Group introduces expanded cyber
security service offerings as a key component of BCN’s strategic plan, allowing us to
focus on end to end customer experience within a consolidated IT and cybersecurity
practice. BCN and CyberQ will provide customers with a one-stop-shop for best-in-
class solutions featuring robust cybersecurity protections, advancing and securing
businesses within the market space.
Specialist Advisers from Department for International Trade (DIT) in the West
Midlands and Africa assisted the CyberQ group in securing this partnership deal. From
alerting CyberQ Group to the partnership opportunity through to facilitating meetings,
DIT has been invaluable in the support they have offered.
Ian Harrison, Head of Exports – Midlands for the Department for
International Trade said:
“I am thrilled to hear that the support of the Department for International Trade both
in the UK and Overseas, has supported Birmingham-based business CyberQ Group in
securing a partnership deal with the Backbone Connectivity Network (BCN) in Nigeria.
As host region of the Commonwealth Games 2022, it is fantastic that this
Birmingham-based business is embracing our Commonwealth trade links and
embarking on a new and exciting deal that will improve the cyber security capabilities
in Nigeria.
